What is a SWIFT MT message?

A SWIFT MT message is a structured text message used by banks for international payments and reporting. It follows the MT (Message Type) standard, e.g., MT103 (customer credit transfer), MT202 (bank transfer), MT940/MT950 (account statements), MT199/MT999 (free format).

How do I open a SWIFT message online?

Visit the Coolutils online SWIFT Viewer, paste the message text or upload a file, and click "View." The tool parses blocks {1}-{5} and field tags (like :20:, :50K:, :59:, :71A:) into a clean, readable layout—no banking terminals or add-ons required.

Which MT types are supported?

Common types such as MT103, MT202, MT202 COV, MT199, MT999, MT940, MT950, MT210 and more. The viewer extracts standard fields and preserves multi-line narrative (e.g., :70:, :72:, :79:).

Do you support ISO 20022 (MX) messages?

Yes, basic viewing of ISO 20022 XML (MX) is supported in separate tools. For MT messages, use this viewer; for MX (pacs., pain., camt.), use the ISO 20022/XML viewer.

Can I convert MT messages to HTML, TXT, or CSV?

Yes. After parsing, you can export a human-readable HTML view or download plain text/CSV with key fields (reference, amounts, parties, narrative) for review and archiving.

Is Coolutils SWIFT Viewer secure?

Yes. Files are transferred over HTTPS, processed only for your session, and automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours. We don’t share your documents with third parties.

Does the viewer validate field formats?

It checks block structure and recognizes standard tags; obvious format issues are highlighted. However, it’s not a compliance validator and doesn’t replace bank-side validation engines.

Can I open multiple messages at once?

Yes. You can paste several MT messages back-to-back or upload a file containing multiple messages; the viewer will split them and display each one with its own header and fields.

Yes. Multi-line content is preserved with line breaks and safe HTML escaping so you can read instructions and free text exactly as sent.
