| Description | MSG file is a MS Outlook email saved to a separate file. Such mail format is also used in The Bat!, Windows Mail, MDaemon, etc. It contains email fields and attachments, supporting both plain text and HTML mail formatting. As a rule, the mail content is encoded by base64 scheme. Encoding is required for mail to pass the mail servers that originally process text only. MSG can be opened in the program version it was created in, and the file will conflict with all other applications. To convert .MSG to PDF, HTML, TXT or other formats use the online converter. |

| Description | HTML allows creating structured documents and web pages. HTML file contains command tags in angular brackets that mark out each element like title, paragraphs, quotes, links, lists, etc. Web-pages generated with HTML have .html extension (for a static web-page). HTML code is processed by a browser, while user sees only the text and other elements of the page without any tags. The source code can be viewed separately. HTML files can be edited in a common text editor like a TXT file. |

MSG only opens in Outlook, but HTML opens in every browser. Converting MSG to HTML preserves the message body, formatting, embedded images, and header block, and gives you a self-contained web page that can be archived, emailed, or attached to a ticket. Drop your .msg file above.
MSG is Microsoft Outlook's per-email format, based on the Compound File Binary Format (CFBF / OLE2). Each .msg file holds one message: headers, plain-text and HTML bodies, recipients, embedded images, attachments, and Outlook-specific properties like flags and categories. The format opens natively in Outlook and a few Outlook-aware utilities but is opaque to almost everything else.
HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the markup language every browser renders. Tags such as <p>, <table>, <img>, and <a> describe the structure; CSS supplies the styling. HTML is universal: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, mobile browsers, email clients, content management systems, and search-engine crawlers all read it natively. An HTML email archive opens with one double-click anywhere.
