DescriptionSVG is a vector type of graphics, such files provide excellent data compression within the small file size. It provides scaling up to any size without loss in quality, supports various filters and interactivity. This format is aimed at storing either vector or vector/raster graphic data in XML code, supporting animated graphics. SVG files are actually text image description that can be edited and read in text editors. They are less in size than JPEG or GIF copies of the same quality.

PDF to SVG Converter — Frequently Asked Questions ▼

The converter extracts vector content directly — lines, curves, shapes, and text glyphs are written as SVG path elements, not as embedded raster images. PDFs that contain raster images (photographs, scanned pages) will have those images embedded as bitmap data inside the SVG. The vector portions of the page are always preserved as true scalable paths.
Yes. Upload the PDF containing the logo, convert it, and open the resulting SVG in Inkscape or Illustrator. Vector logos come through as editable paths. If the PDF is a multi-page document, each page produces a separate SVG — the logo is in whichever page's SVG it appears on.
Text is converted to SVG elements if the PDF embeds a compatible font map. In some PDFs where text is stored as outlines (converted to paths by the PDF exporter), it will appear as path elements — visually identical but not selectable as text. To guarantee selectable SVG text, the source PDF should have embedded fonts, not outlined text.
Upload the PDF above. The online converter processes the full document and produces one SVG file per page. For a single-page PDF, one SVG is returned. For batch processing of multi-page PDFs or entire folders, the desktop Total PDF Converter converts each page to a separate SVG with full control over page range selection.
The online converter accepts PDF files up to 50 MB. Most PDFs containing logos, diagrams, and technical drawings are well within this limit. For large PDFs with many high-resolution embedded images, or for batch conversion of an entire folder, use the desktop Total PDF Converter, which has no file size limit.
Yes. The output is standard W3C SVG and imports cleanly in Inkscape, Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer, and Figma. Vector paths are editable, grouped by the original PDF structure. Figma and Sketch may simplify complex path groups on import — for full editability, Inkscape gives the most faithful result.
The online converter handles one file at a time. For batch conversion, the desktop Total PDF Converter processes entire folders of PDFs to SVG in one command: TotalPDFConverter.exe C:\Docs\*.pdf /svg /out C:\SVG_Output\ — useful for automated asset pipelines and documentation site builds.

Convert PDF to SVG — PDF Pages to Scalable Vector Graphics

PDF and SVG are both vector formats, but they serve different purposes. PDF is a fixed-layout document format — designed for printing and archiving. SVG is a web-native vector format — designed for browsers, design tools, and responsive layouts. Converting PDF to SVG extracts the vector paths, text, and shapes from each page and writes them as true SVG elements, resolution-independent and infinitely scalable. The result opens in any browser, imports into Inkscape, Illustrator, or Figma, and embeds cleanly in web pages and CSS pipelines. Drop your .pdf above and download SVG files in seconds.

What Is SVG?

SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is an XML-based vector image format standardised by the W3C in 1999 and supported natively by every modern web browser. Unlike raster formats (JPG, PNG), SVG stores shapes as mathematical descriptions — paths, curves, lines, and text — so the image can be scaled to any size without pixelation. A logo displayed at 16px and at 4K resolution uses the same SVG file.

SVG is the standard format for web icons, logos, diagrams, data visualisations, and UI illustrations. Design tools (Inkscape, Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer, Figma) read and write SVG natively. CSS and JavaScript can animate and style SVG elements directly in the browser. For any content that originated as a vector — a PDF logo, a technical diagram, a chart — converting to SVG preserves the vector quality and makes the content web-ready.

TotalPDFConverter.exe C:\Documents\*.pdf /svg /out C:\SVG_Output\

Add /pages 1 to extract only the first page (useful for cover pages and title slides), or /subfolders to process nested directories recursively. Useful for automated asset pipelines that convert design documents to web-ready SVG, or for batch-converting a library of PDF diagrams into SVG for a documentation site build process.
