What data from the RTF document ends up in the spreadsheet?

Tables inside the RTF are mapped to rows and columns in the XLS sheet. Plain paragraphs are placed in a single column so the text is preserved as readable cells. RTF character formatting (bold, italic, color) is dropped because XLS cells do not carry inline rich-text styles in the same way — the content itself is retained.

Will embedded images from the RTF appear in the XLS?

RTF can embed images as objects. During conversion to XLS, embedded images are generally not carried over because XLS cells are data-oriented, not layout containers. If your RTF file is primarily a formatted document with a few tables, expect the tabular content and text to convert cleanly; standalone images will be omitted.

What is the file size limit for the online converter?

The online converter accepts files up to 50 MB. Most RTF documents — even those with many pages and embedded formatting — are well under this limit. For very large RTF files produced by automated reporting systems, or for batch converting entire document archives, the desktop Total Doc Converter handles unlimited file sizes.
