What does JPG to DOCX conversion actually do with the image?

Can the converter extract and edit the text from the JPG?

This converter embeds the image as a picture, not as recognized text. It does not perform OCR (optical character recognition). If your JPG is a photo of a printed document and you want editable text, you need an OCR tool. If your goal is simply to include a photo, screenshot, or graphic inside a Word document — for a report, letter, or presentation handout — this converter is the right choice.

What image quality is preserved in the embedded DOCX?

The JPG is embedded at its original resolution. Word does not recompress images on import by default. However, if you later save the DOCX with Word's 'Compress Pictures' option enabled, Word may downsample the embedded image to 150 or 220 PPI. To prevent this: in Word, go to File → Options → Advanced → Image Size and Quality and check 'Do not compress images in file.' This preserves the full resolution of the original JPG.

The resulting DOCX has the image but it's too big or too small on the page — how do I fix it?

Word sizes embedded images based on the DPI metadata in the JPG file. A 3000×2000 px image tagged at 72 DPI will appear very large (about 41×28 inches); the same image tagged at 300 DPI will appear at about 10×6.7 inches. After conversion, simply click the image in Word, go to Picture Format → Size, and set the exact dimensions you need. Alternatively, set your JPG's DPI metadata to 96 or 150 before converting.

What is the maximum file size the online converter accepts?

The online converter accepts JPG files up to 50 MB. High-resolution scans from professional flatbed scanners can reach 20–40 MB. If your JPG is larger than 50 MB, resize it in any image editor first — most Word pages display images at 96–150 DPI, so a 2480×3508 px image is sufficient for an A4 page at 300 DPI and will be well under the limit.
