What kind of WPD content actually transfers to XLS?

Tables are the most useful content to extract: each WordPerfect table row becomes a spreadsheet row and each cell maps to a corresponding column. Plain paragraph text is placed in the first column of successive rows. Formatting like bold, font size, and colours may carry over to cell formatting. Embedded images, headers, footers, and page-layout elements are not part of the spreadsheet data model and are dropped.

Why would someone need to convert WPD to XLS?

Legacy WPD files from WordPerfect 8–12 often contain financial tables, legal billing summaries, or data grids that were created before Excel was the dominant spreadsheet tool. Converting them to XLS lets you reuse that tabular data in Excel for further calculations, sorting, or importing into databases — without retyping it manually.

Will formulas or calculations be preserved from WPD?

No. WordPerfect tables can contain basic arithmetic, but the WPD format stores calculated results, not live formulas. The XLS output contains the numeric values that were in the cells at the time the WPD was saved. You would need to recreate any Excel formulas manually after conversion.

What is the file size limit for online WPD to XLS conversion?

The online converter accepts files up to 50 MB. The vast majority of WPD documents are under 5 MB. If your file is larger — for example, a lengthy document with many embedded images — note that only the text and table data will appear in the XLS output regardless; the images add to file size but are not transferred to the spreadsheet.
