Is WordPerfect formatting — styles, columns, reveal codes — preserved in the JPG?

The JPG output is a rendered page image, not an editable document. All formatting that affects the visual appearance of the page is preserved as a pixel image: multi-column layouts, Reveal Codes-driven formatting, drop caps, tables, and custom fonts all appear exactly as printed. What is not preserved: the underlying text as editable content, hyperlinks, and any revision tracking metadata.

What image quality and resolution should I expect from the JPG output?

The converter renders WPD pages at screen resolution, producing JPGs suitable for on-screen viewing and web embedding.
