What DPI (resolution) are the output PNG images?

The default output is 150 DPI, which is sharp enough for screen viewing, email, and social media sharing. For print-quality output or embedding in high-resolution publications, 300 DPI is recommended — individual pixels are not visible at normal viewing distances. The DPI setting can be selected before conversion. At 300 DPI, an A4 page renders as 2480 × 3508 pixels.

Why use PNG instead of JPEG for DOC page images?
