What is the difference between PNG and JPG output for an HWP document?

PNG is a lossless format — the output image is a pixel-exact rendering of the document page with no compression artifacts. Text edges, table borders, and small Hangul characters remain crisp and sharp. JPG applies lossy compression, which can introduce blurring around text and fine lines at lower quality settings. For document images where legibility and sharpness matter (contracts, forms, certificates), PNG is the better choice. For casual sharing or thumbnails where file size matters more, JPG is sufficient.

Does converting HWP to PNG produce one file per page?

Yes. Each page of the HWP document is rendered as a separate PNG image, named sequentially (e.g., document_1.png, document_2.png, …). The online converter processes all pages and provides them for download. If you need to combine pages into a multi-page document rather than individual images, consider converting to PDF instead.

Does the output PNG preserve transparency?

HWP documents have white page backgrounds, so the rendered PNG also has a white background — there is no transparency to preserve from the source.
