If the format is truly unknown or proprietary with no public decoder, the converter returns an error specifying that the format is unsupported.

What happens to transparency when converting to JPG?

JPEG has no alpha channel. Transparent areas in PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, or SVG sources are flattened against a white background by default. If you need to preserve transparency, convert to PNG instead. The desktop Total Image Converter lets you configure the background colour for transparent regions before conversion.

Will EXIF metadata be preserved?

Yes when the source format carries EXIF (HEIC, AVIF, PNG with metadata, RAW files, JPEG variants). Camera model, capture date, GPS coordinates, focal length, aperture, and ISO are copied across to the JPG output. Document and vector sources don't have camera EXIF — only file metadata like creation date is preserved.

What is the maximum file size for the online converter?

The online converter accepts files up to 50 MB. RAW photos from full-frame DSLRs (45-megapixel sensors and above) may exceed this limit. For very large RAW files or for batch processing a mixed photo library, use the desktop Total Image Converter, which has no file size limit.

Can I convert RAW camera photos to JPG?

Yes. The converter handles common RAW formats: Canon (CR2, CR3), Nikon (NEF), Sony (ARW), Adobe DNG, Olympus (ORF), Fujifilm (RAF), Panasonic (RW2). The RAW data is demosaiced with default white balance and tone curve, then exported as a standard JPEG with EXIF preserved.
