CategoryImage File
DescriptionJPG is the file format for images made by digital cameras and spread throughout the world wide web. Saving in JPG format an image loses its quality, because of the size compression. But at the end you have a much smaller file easy to archive, send, and publish in the web. These are the cases when an image's size matters more than image's quality. Nonetheless, by using professional software you can select the compression degree and so affect the image's quality.

All to JPG Universal Converter — Frequently Asked Questions ▼

Hundreds. Common photo formats (PNG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, WebP, JFIF, HEIC, AVIF), RAW camera formats (CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, DNG, ORF, RAF), document formats (PDF, DOC, DOCX, ODT, RTF, PPT), vector formats (SVG, EPS, DXF), and many exotic legacy formats (PSD, ICO, PCX, TGA, BTW, AAE wrappers). The converter detects the format from the file signature, not just the extension.
The converter reads the file's binary signature (the magic bytes at the start of the file) to identify the actual format, regardless of what the extension says. If the file is recognised as an image, document, or vector format, it converts to JPG. If the format is truly unknown or proprietary with no public decoder, the converter returns an error specifying that the format is unsupported.
JPEG has no alpha channel. Transparent areas in PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, or SVG sources are flattened against a white background by default. If you need to preserve transparency, convert to PNG instead. The desktop Total Image Converter lets you configure the background colour for transparent regions before conversion.
Yes when the source format carries EXIF (HEIC, AVIF, PNG with metadata, RAW files, JPEG variants). Camera model, capture date, GPS coordinates, focal length, aperture, and ISO are copied across to the JPG output. Document and vector sources don't have camera EXIF — only file metadata like creation date is preserved.
The online converter accepts files up to 50 MB. RAW photos from full-frame DSLRs (45-megapixel sensors and above) may exceed this limit. For very large RAW files or for batch processing a mixed photo library, use the desktop Total Image Converter, which has no file size limit.
Yes. The converter handles common RAW formats: Canon (CR2, CR3), Nikon (NEF), Sony (ARW), Adobe DNG, Olympus (ORF), Fujifilm (RAF), Panasonic (RW2). The RAW data is demosaiced with default white balance and tone curve, then exported as a standard JPEG with EXIF preserved. For full control over RAW development (custom white balance, exposure compensation), use the desktop application or a dedicated RAW editor.
The online converter handles one file at a time. For mixed-format batches — converting a folder containing PNG, HEIC, RAW, and TIFF files all to JPG in one pass — use the desktop Total Image Converter: TotalImageConverter.exe C:\Mixed\*.* /jpg /out C:\JPG\. The desktop tool processes thousands of files per run with quality, resize, and EXIF options.

Convert Any File to JPG — Universal Image Converter

You have a file with an extension nobody recognises — .aae from an iPhone backup, .enc encoding wrapper, .btw barcode label, .jfif screenshot from Edge, .heic photo from a friend's iPhone, or an obscure RAW from a camera you don't even own. The upload form rejects it, your image viewer shrugs, the print shop won't accept it. Convert it to JPG and the problem disappears. This universal converter accepts hundreds of file types and writes a standard JPEG that opens in every application, on every device, since 1995. Drop your file above and download a JPG in seconds.

What "All to JPG" Actually Means

The converter auto-detects the input format from the file signature (not just the extension) and selects the right decoder. Photos in HEIC, AVIF, WebP, PNG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, and JFIF are decoded directly. RAW camera files (CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, DNG, ORF, RAF, RW2) are developed through a demosaic + tone-curve pipeline. Documents in PDF, DOC, DOCX, RTF, ODT, and PPT have their pages rendered to JPEG. Vector files like SVG, EPS, and DXF are rasterized. Exotic formats — Apple .aae sidecars, Windows .ico icons, Photoshop .psd, Bartender .btw labels, encrypted .enc wrappers — fall into the long tail the converter handles.

The output is always the same: a standard JPEG at high quality, with EXIF metadata copied across where the source format carries any. JPEG has no transparency, so PNG / WebP / HEIC alpha channels are flattened against a white background.

Command-Line Batch Conversion

The desktop Total Image Converter handles entire mixed-format folders to JPG in one operation:

TotalImageConverter.exe C:\Mixed_Files\*.* /jpg /out C:\JPG_Output\

Because the converter auto-detects input format from the file signature rather than the extension, the wildcard *.* safely processes a chaotic mix of HEIC, WebP, CR2, PNG, PSD, and unrecognised extensions in a single run. Add /quality 92 to control JPEG compression, /keepExif to retain GPS and camera data, or /resize 2048x0 to cap the long edge for web delivery. Combine with /subfolders and a Windows Task Scheduler trigger to run automatic nightly normalisation of incoming photo drops.
