Are VBA macros preserved in the PDF output?

No. The PDF output contains only the document content — text, tables, images, and formatting. VBA macro code is stripped during conversion and does not appear in the PDF. This is a security feature: PDF does not support VBA execution, and the conversion process never runs the macros.

Is all formatting preserved when converting DOCM to PDF?

Yes. Text formatting (bold, italic, font size, color), paragraph styles, tables, embedded images, headers, footers, and page numbering are all preserved in the PDF output. Complex DOCM-specific features that depend on macro execution (dynamic fields populated by macros) will appear as their static last-saved values.
