What is an RVF file and why would I need to convert it?

RVF (RichView Format) is the native save format of the TRichView and ScaleRichView components used in Delphi and C++Builder applications. It stores rich text with paragraph styles, character formatting, tables, images, and hyperlinks in a binary format that only TRichView-based applications can open. Converting to PDF gives you a universally readable document that anyone can open without the original authoring software.

How do I convert RVF to PDF online?

Does the PDF preserve the original layout, fonts, and images?

If your RVF uses a custom or proprietary font that is not installed, the server substitutes a metrically similar font, which may subtly alter line breaks on text-heavy pages.

What RVF features do not survive conversion to PDF?

Interactive TRichView objects — active UI controls, embedded components, or custom drawing objects — are flattened to static visual content. Very specialized TRichView-only styling effects may be approximated or rasterized. Hyperlinks are converted to standard clickable PDF annotations and remain functional.

What is the file size limit for the online converter?

The online converter accepts RVF files up to 50 MB. Most RVF documents created by typical Delphi applications are a few MB or less. For large RVF files with many high-resolution images, or for batch converting entire archives of RVF exports from a production system, use the CoolUtils desktop tools which have no size limit and support command-line automation.

My PDF has different line wrapping than the original RVF. How do I fix it?

Line-wrap differences almost always come from font substitution. The server uses a substitute font with slightly different character widths, which shifts where lines break. The solution is to embed or switch to a standard cross-platform font (Arial, Times New Roman, Courier New) in the RVF source and reconvert. If that is not possible, adjust margins slightly to give the layout more tolerance.
